Research and feeling under-the-weather

Well I've been fighting off a sickness or something for the last couple of days. The office has been great about letting me take my work home with me. I've been sleeping a lot even with it staying light out until 11pm!! I guess I'm just run down from the end of the semester and all the excitement of my travelling up here and getting settled.

I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can finally get some much needed rest. I'll be posting pictures soon of the Anchorage area and when I'm working and such. I've gotten in touch with my former boss Bill who owns a hostel now up near Denali National Park. I'm hoping to get up there and check the place out before much longer.

I've begun working on my housing analysis for Newtok, AK by pulling up all the available housing and population statistics and adding them to my research binder. I'm hoping to meet with some of the folks that have conducted planning workshops with the village recently so I can futher flesh out what data I have to work with. I am hoping to find enough data to develop the survey questions without having to re-invent the wheel so to speak. Now I wish I hadn't dropped my statisitics class!!! I went to a presentation yesterday that had exactly the type of statistic examples that Prof. Ming was teaching in his class. Oh Well, I guess I'll learn it by doing it. lol!
